speed checks
- Caroline (14th Jan 2022 - 13:33:32)

Delighted to see speed checks being undertaken today for cars racing along the London Road. Some were going at 60mph!

Unfortunately any calming effect this may have will soon disappeared and I suspect the idiots will be speeding along it this evening again. It wont change without some kind of traffic management like extra pinch points. It probably doesn't help that the speed limit coming into the village goes straight from 60MPH to 30.

On London road tonight I passed an old black Mercedes’ that the plod had stopped by Radford Park. Must have happened during the plods annual 10 minute visit to Liphook.
It was not one of the spotty wheel spinning little old banger boys unfortunately. Looked more like a county lines driver having his car searched on route to Sainsbury's car park. What sad little lives these people have :)

Does anyone have an idea what the camera is for on the lampost outside Radford Park, saw it being put up on Friday. points towards the village.

The little boy-racers delivering Class A to the locals won't be affected. They are not bovvered by the law, and are likely to be running cloned plates anyway.

Probably the odd delivery driver on a zero-hours contract and minimum wage will be done for 2mph over the limit towards the end of their shift, and lose their job. Legitimate motorists are an easy revenue-making target.
