Sainsbury's and Lidl at Christmas

While shopping in Sainsbury's today the invasive and virtually continuous public announcements included local food bank appeals, not a bad thing absolutely without question, but guess who makes the profit on donations collected in store.....
Lidl are donating at their own expense 750,000 Christmas meals to 1500 charities nationwide.
No, I am not a Lidl employee and have no financial interest with them either.

I sort of see why it got your goat, but just imagine how much it would cost to buy that kind of advertising for a charity? That is priceless, advertising to customers (ie those who donate) at the place where they shop, believe me if Sainsbury's sold those slots to big corporations they'd make millions.
We should never knock those who do, unless we ourselves are doing more perhaps.
