Newtown Road intruders - SC (14th May 2024 - 06:34:06) A warning to residents of Newtown Road. At 0445 this morning I disturbed two young guys, all dressed in black with one wearing a face mask, in my back garden. They quickly left when challenged. Police were called and arrived soon after. It would be wise to check sheds/out buildings.

Re: Newtown Road intruders - Sarah (14th May 2024 - 19:07:31) I live in Lark Rise and woke up to find our garden gate left open and my son's motorbike stolen. It was found dumped in Yeoman's Lane. Nasty people.

Re: Newtown Road intruders - Justin L (14th May 2024 - 19:45:46) Our bikes were stolen this morning at 0420 on Longmoor Road. Got one back - thanks GWC!! The other is a blue Specialised MTB if anyone sees it dumped pls get in touch. Neighbours sheds all rummaged as well on Longmoor Road. There’s some good Ring footage of one of their faces, the other is wearing a balaclava. I’ve filled in an online Police report for Hampshire & Isle of Wight police, but heard nothing back yet.

Re: Newtown Road intruders - Sam (14th May 2024 - 20:09:24) Surely with all these cheap tech CCTV from many different vendors for sale the village would be bathed in CCTV, enough to nail these people? You might wear a mask in the back garden but good luck keeping it on as you walk the streets for that is asking for a 999 call and getting pulled. I can near guarantee that on someone’s CCTV they have walked past without masks on this night in question. Check and recheck your CCTV is more important than sympathy in this case.. no offence intended to the sympathetic
