Pilates or yoga?
- AA (15th Jun 2024 - 18:59:49)

Hi

Looking for a group beginners class... did pilates about 15 years ago for a while but not sure that counts!

More than happy to join a mixed age class of course but I'm in my late 30s so not wanting a class specifically meant for seniors!

Daytime is actually more doable right now but early evening may be possible.

Thanks

Give Sammy Lambley's Monday night class in Liphook a try? www.samanthalambley.com

There are lots of great teachers in the area. Try Zannah Charman Lambert or Angela Thompson.

I go to a yoga class on Monday mornings at Millennium Centre at 9.30.

Slow and controlled moves, giving lots of stretch. Small class.

Rachael is a really lovely instructor.

There is also a class run by Rachel on a Thursday evening from 6p.m. -7p.m at the Liphook Day Centre, Peak Centre, Midhurst Road. for those interested.

Not sure, but perhaps one is a means of channeling Hindu or Buddhist religious energy while the other is a form of postural stretches practiced by mainly middle class westerners who find jogging a little too exerting and feel the need to do stretches in groups with someone wearing a mike shouting "up, lift higher girls, up, up hold, I said hold, hold and one two three shake it all out and breathe!" while bad 1990's music deafens everyone else within 100 yards :)
