Job vacancy: Assistant gardener
- DHC (22nd Nov 2024 10:27:39)
A position is available for a self-employed, physically able adult to take on a wide range of gardening jobs. A few hours locally, weekly or fortnightly at a negotiable rate of pay. Must be reliable, conscientious, keen and able to work closely with the horticulturalist. Free training, guidance and some equipment provided.
This is a brilliant opportunity for any gardener-to-be to gain considerable practical gardening experience and learn fine horticultural skills. Work in a friendly and pleasant environment of private local gardens. Plenty of scope for further progression for suitable candidates.

Self employed? Can you expand on this point?

If you provide the tools, machinery etc and invoice the customer you are an employer.
Hopefully, you realise that.

What is described here sounds more like sub contracting work out to a third party. Unusual time of year to be recruiting for a gardening firm, maybe it is seasonal work, leaf sweeping maybe.

What is it with you people!!!!!! Someone is simply advertising a job, I am sure anyone in need of a job and interested will apply directly and find out what they need to know.
Once again it’s the same sad miserable individuals trying to infer a negative aspect or suspicion. Talkback at is worse.

I have to agree with you on the first part of your post. If someone is interested in the job let them ask the questions.
It is not Liphook Talkbacks fault in this, they are fair in letting people have their say. It is up to people to question them why they are posting negatively.
I hope this person is not put off posting if they need to again.
