Takeaway Approved
Although councillor Anna James protested loudly against an empty Liphook Estate Agents Office in London Road becoming a kebab/pizza take-away, East Hants District Council South Planning Committe voted conditional permission for this last Thursday.
The proviso is that the application, who is well known locally for this mobile kebab van, restricts opening hours from noon to 11pm weekdays, and to midnight at weekends.
Also, he is not allowed to start his home delivery service until after 5.30pm.
There had been several letters of objection from local residents about road safety, illegal parking and cooking smells, but a 150 signature petition in favor of the application has been received.
Despite this, and after imposing conditions, members of the committee voted to grant permission.
