2 black labradors seen running along road
- JJ (16th Dec 2013 - 13:08:32)

16/12/13 at 12.30 lunchtime, just past the village green at Headley, on Fullers Vale road, leading to Beech Hill road, 2 labradors running along, appeared to be 'together', the slightly larger one wearing a red collar, cars slowed as the dogs had no-where to go as the left side of the road has fencing, the right is sloped woodland leading to Hilland Rise estate.
I got out of my car, as did another lady and her son, we tried calling to them and got their attention but they wouldn't come to us, they appeared to be having too much fun, but as soon as a gap at the end of the fencing appeared, they darted through and shot off over the land there.
We did try pretty hard and long to try to retrieve them.

Hi

I have seen a single black dog running along that road on past occasions, so suspect it might be a regular outing for a local dog!

If this is regular then it is even more serious.

I had my first [and only] serious car accident many years ago where a number of drivers were taking evasive action to avoid loose dogs on the road. Ended up in a multi car pile up in which my car was written off and I was hospitalised.

I think it should be reported to the police on 101 just in case it is regular. The owners should be more responsible.
