Cecil Aldin - 1921 1st Edition Print of The Royal Anchor
- Susie (12th Feb 2015 - 19:50:39)

For sale in mint condition is a mounted Cecil Aldin - 1921 1st Edition Print of The Royal Anchor.

Cecil was largely known for his paintings of animals, this is one of the few paintings of buildings that he did. Apparently he did this as payment for his stay at The Royal Anchor - although I am not sure how much truth there is to this!

I have had this for a number of years, it is still in the cellophane wrap that I bought it in. I am looking for £20, this is what I paid for it. If you are interested, please comment below with your email address and I will send you some photos.

Many Thanks, Susie

I am interested in your print. It was one of a number of pictures the artist did for a book called 'Old Inns' published by William Heineman in 1921.

I recall that long before the many makeovers this coaching inn has undergone a signed copy hung in one of the bars.

Please ring me on 07968 429227
