Village Surgery
The Ship House Surgery is pleased to announce that along with its refreshed and renewed interior, reconfigured working arrangements as well as the provision of a whole new variety of services, the Practice is taking the opportunity to take on a simple but rather more descriptive name. Henceforth it is to be known as the Liphook Village Surgery.
The Waiting Room will soon house a state of the art computerised patient information system which will provide regularly updated healthcare contemporary news and information. Much of this information will also be made available on the Practice’s new website www.liphookvillagesurgery.co.uk
The Practice has been through turbulent and challenging times over recent years and as a consequence, much change has been required. The practice has worked hard to refine and develop the provision of medical care and is now able to provide a much wider range of high quality general practice services in addition to a new range of integrated complementary and healthy lifestyle services fit for the 21st century.
The Practice has adopted a personalised list system, allowing each and every patient to see their own doctor whenever possible. Appointments can be booked with individual doctors up to four weeks ahead.
The extended range of services includes the in-house provision of an extensive range of minor surgical procedures as well as a comprehensive Family Planning Service. Outside of, but working alongside traditional NHS provision, patients will also be able to find highly trained and experienced practitioners of Chiropractic, Homeopathy, Reflexology and Acupuncture as well as a Counselling Service that can deliver a range of evidence-based interventions. Additionally, certain cosmetic and aesthetic procedures are available. In due course it is likely that the practice will be able to provide even more services locally that would have previously required referral to hospital.
The enormously experienced and highly qualified Practice Nurses are extending their role to include the creation of a number of new specialist clinics. They are being assisted by Mrs Amanda Fenech who occupies the new role of Health Care Assistant. New clinics will include a new ‘Same Day Treatment Service’. The surgery will be increasingly involved in the teaching of the doctors of tomorrow by taking an active role in the education of both medical students from Southampton University as well as that of newly qualified doctors with an interest in developing a career in general practice.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Senior Partner, Dr Alan Ward; as well as that of a new Practice Manager, Mrs Susan Suddards.
