Paint Liphook Proud
Preservation Society asks local artists to paint Liphook Proud.
Bramshott & Liphook Art & Crafts Society members were delighted to be asked to help raise money for the Heritage Centre to be established at the Liphook Millennium Centre later this year.
Norman Everdon & Ian Baker from the Liphook Preservation Society launched the competition to BLACS members at their February meeting at Liphook Village Hall.
BLACS members are being asked to paint scenes of Liphook and its surrounds, either in an historical or contemporary setting. Paintings may be in any medium and the resources of the Liphook Archives will be available for those wishing to take an historical perspective to their work, e.g. a stage-coach arriving at The Anchor Inn.
The competition winner’s painting will be reproduced as limited edition prints to be sold to raise funds for the Heritage Centre. The winning entry will also be featured at the Society’s 25th Anniversary Annual Exhibition in October which, for the first time, will be held at the Millennium Centre.
Sue Rawlings, BLACS Chairwoman thanked the Preservation Society for the challenge and echoed the enthusiasm voiced by members who will no doubt be seen working around the village over the coming months!
