Puppy Training Class
- Dawn Hoskins (13th Jul 2018 14:46:14)
I normally train with Steve Cain but he's not got any new puppy classes running.
What other classes are there reasonably close by for puppies? Any idea?

OMG it's like there is a nationwide shortage of puppy classes!
I have tried pretty much everywhere - either none running or all full up!
I called the lady running Rake Village Hall and she was so rude and abrupt - I was shocked.
Grayshott village hall nothing until September.
Steve Cain - not running any
Only want socialization really as little Jimmy is such a cowardly custard!
Perhaps we can organize a puppy (young dog) gathering via this site?

Dawn did you try Sarah Miles. Really important you get him in somewhere even if you have to travel I go as far as Fareham for training. Try Gill Gallagher we did some obedience work with her good classes. Although a cowardly custard important to work with him as you do not want him to mature into a nervous boy. As he matures he will start to change, things that were not an issue may become an issue, amazing how much changes in a puppy in those early weeks. I really hope you get somewhere. I am currently dog training with an Academy and will be taking Yogi on one of my practical days however if we are asked to bring them again I may well give you a shout and borrow Jimmy at least it will give him a days training :-) Let me know how you get on.

There are dog training classes in Headley village hall on a wednesday, but think they may be in blocks such as 10 weeks etc. I do not have a number for them but there maybe some details in the hall foyer.

I've left voicemail message re: Headley Village Hall as there is no telephone number to be found anywhere. IT is listed on the Headley Parish website - but no number is given and ditto with the hall info board? Isn't that weird it?
I've emailed the Dogs Trust (Lindford Hall).
Fingers crossed that one of them will reply.
Meanwhile - I've found that all the Pets Corners (Sleaford in Country Market and in Rake garden centre) have a puppy hour from 9:30 - 10:30 every Saturday morning and the one in Alton also has one on a Tuesday morning. I'll start going to them until I can sort a training class out - better than nothing.
Please keep your ears to the ground for me

As no number is given I've googled Inderbrook Dog club and found an Inderbrook Dog Training Society. I assume it 's one in the same. I've sent a PM. fingers crossed.
Thak you everyone for helping me with this - I have phoned about 15 different groups so far getting further and further away. I had no idea how difficult it was going to be to find a puppy class.
Meanwhile, I took Jimmy to 'Puppy Hour' at Pets Corner (next to Country Market) on Saturday morning. Rather disappointed to find that as he was born 4th April he can only attend until 4th August - which gives him only one more chance! It was quite a civilized affair with members of staff sitting down in one aisle which they had closed off and puppies mixing and interacting with one another. I wish I'd known about it sooner (it isn't advertised anywhere). For cowardly custards like Jimmy it would have been great to go from earlier on. It was full of spaniels so Jimmy looked like a giant and unfortunately spent 45 minutes of the 1-hour session on the lap of the staff member - too terrified to get off (those tiny spaniels were terrifying!).

I would highly recommend Steve Cain - he is a real 'dog whisperer'!
His classes start again in October
