LUFC Winners
The news that we all wanted to give to our community is that Liphook United FC are now the winners of the Hampshire Saturday Intermediate Cup and it feels great.
The team beat Nursling FC 2-1 in normal time with second half goals from Dominic Cope (FA Man of the match) and Adam Pierson. On Tuesday evening captain Andy Luckhurst said to me that he did not lose cup finals and he was spot on. The team delivered an excellent performance against a strong Nursling side who certainly showed that they wanted the cup as much as we did but our strength, fitness, speed and skill was evident for all to see.
Kevin Adair assisted by Tommy Powers have delivered what many have tried to do over the years and they and the team can rightly hold their heads up with pride along with a truely dedicated and fine group of players.
I would also like to pay credit to and thank Andover New Street FC who stepped in when every other ground was flooded and hosted the final so well.
Also, this message would not be complete if I did not mention the 200 people who were not going to be put off by the rain and change of venue and acted as the teams 12th man. The club thanks you for your support and committment.
There are many others to thank individually and you know who you are and my thanks go to you all.

Chairman, Liphook United FC
