First Anniversary
The Gurkha Chautari Nepalese Restaurant on Station Road celebrated their First Anniversary under the new ownership of Mani and Sudha Rai.
The buffet curry lunch was attended by appoximately 50 of their regular customers and they were entertained by a Gurkha Piper from the Queen's Own Logistic Regiment in Aldershot.
The traditional quache was presented to the Piper by Brigadier Duncan Green (Ex-10th Gurkha Rifles) who served with both Mani and Sudha's fathers in the Far East. Brigadier Green is also Regional Chairman of the Gurkha Welfare Trust and the Royal British Legion in Liphook.
The photograph shows (L to R) Mani, Sudha, Santosh (Manager), Puran (Head Chef), Nick (Waiter) and Corporal Mesh.
Having established itself, the Gurkha Chautari now offers its customers a home delivery service (within a 5 mile radius of Liphook), and catering in venues of your choice.
The restaurant is now taking bookings for Christmas and New Year. To contact us please phone 01428 729355 or 01428 729318.
