BLACS ‘Crafty Art’
a day of art & craft inspired by Britain’s favourite topic, ‘the weather’
Day: Saturday 21st March 2009
Time: 10-12 pm
Location: Liphook Social Club (Working Men’s Hall), Headley Road, Liphook (next door to Village Hall)
BLACS is pleased to announce a new Member Event which is being launched by our Craft Officer, Barbara Stevens. It’s a innovative & exciting opportunity to come up with some wonderfully creative pieces of work inspired by something we all love to talk about: the weather. Working in groups or as individuals, we hope to create some thrilling 2 or 3 dimensional pieces over the two hours whilst having a fun and socialable time.
We're collecting donations of art & craft materials at our usual March evening meeting (Tuesday 3rd March, Millennium Hall, 8-10pm) and we will also take donations at certain times at the Millennium Hall (details to be confirmed). The finished pieces will be exhibited at our April evening meeting, our Members’ Evening in August, and the 2009 Annual Exhibition in October.
If you are interested in all things art & craft and would like to take part on the 21st March, why not become a member? Please contact our Membership Secretary, Jennifer Bloor on 01428 656 884. Members enjoy 12 evening meetings, discounts at art supply shops, monthly afternoon & weekly evening social sessions , workshops, newsletters, outings, art awards & competitions, and submission of work at our Annual Exhibition in October.
We very much hope you’ll support the launch of this extraordinary event on the 21st March and by donating any materials you can spare.
Equipment & materials: we are looking for donations of the following: Paper (any kind), paints (oils, acrylics, watercolours, etc), ribbon, cardboard, yarn, fabric, tissues, sponges, glue, glitter, cotton wool, inks, sand, clay, brushes, pens, pencils, crayons, pastels, charcoals, sprays, etc.
