Car break-ins and House burglaries increasing in Liphook?

Hi,
I see on local website nextdoor.co.uk camera footage of an intruder in a lit-up garage, prowling for goods to steal in Lark Rise.
There also anecdotal reports of car crime lately from residents homes.
Is this organized gangs or one-off chancers? with little chance of being caught. or charged with offences.

Do the police now actually attend house and car crimes or are they too busy investigating themselves with all the corruption within forces like the MET.
Also where are the police in Liphook given we pay their wages it’s totally unacceptable they are not even visable. These burglaries and crimes may go unsolved but a viable patrol or two by the police car might deter a few bad types targeting the area.

Actually 'we' don't pay the police wages, Hampshire Police pay their wages, unless you write them a cheque if course?
So Hampshire Police get to decide where the police officers are needed most, how do you know that Liphook is even close to being the biggest right now?
Let's face it, as the forgotten town of the forgotten corner of East Hampshire, they are hardly going to be able to station officers here to look for the odd bike theft by some junkies who probably couldn't care less, when other towns are visibly riven with crack heads and fentanyl junkies 24/7 I don't think beyond trying to keep a lid on it there is much room for old style comfort policing, the bobby on the beat, but they are there in their cars if you really need them, just a few minutes drive away, it has to be a crime reported in progress though.
We should stop blaming the police they are doing all they can with one hand tied behind their backs.
Towns need to be better designed to cater for the coming fentanyl epidemic we see in places like LA already, the problem in places like this is amateur town planning at best, done piecemeal by developers and signed off by incompetent jobsworths working in town halls.
Take the new Longmoor Road development with it's alleys and walkways liking up to Lark Rise, the Avenue etc, they tried all this in the 60s thinking society was a safe space, but then it grew and grew and the neighbours stopped knowing who was coming or going 24/7 the alleys became crime and drug runs, noone cared or dare speak out against the designers till eventually they shut off the walkways and realised they cause nothing but trouble, if the police can't patrol in cars, the criminals run riot and can move around quickly and unseen, there is nothing else much for that age group to do in a badly planned town at night.
Call it growing pains but it'll only get worse without joined up thinking and a masterplan for building our new town along with proper youth projects especially in the evenings.

I work in insurance and can confirm theft and crime has increased generally in line with the current cost of living crisis. This is not isolated to Liphook. Best advice - stay vigilant and lock vans/ cars/ properties etc. And report any instances of crime immediately.

Update from Hampshire Police:
"Officers investigating a series of theft from vehicles and burglaries reported in Liphook overnight between Monday (30 January) and Tuesday (31 January) have now made an arrest.
A 14-year-old boy from Havant has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including burglary, theft from motor vehicle and vehicle interference."

Caught a spotty 14 year old well done! What about the other 5 or more in this gang? More importantly why is the majority of crime on Plod’s Crime Map breakdown listed seemly as unsolved? Clear up rate is worst than the vegetable on my 6 year old’s dinner plate :)
Never mind. Keep up the good work catching speeders.

Also what's the issue with the police catching people speeding? Statistically one is more likely to be killed by someone speeding than by someone committing petty theft form vehicles. Therefore if resources are limited makes sense to use the resources on the speeders.
The real question we should ask is what drives people to this criminal behaviour? Sure there will always be some bad apples no matter what, but there are also a group who turn to crime due to being disenfranchised for whatever reason.

DL, I'm sure you wouldn't have that view if it was your house or car being damaged, ransacked or burgled.
IMO anyone who invades other people's homes, business or property is nothing more than scum, no matter their background or circumstances and should be dealt with accordingly.
