Lloyds Bank building
- AF (21st Aug 2023 - 00:33:35)

With the bank soon to go any ideas what the building could be used for.

Go back to being a house maybe

- D (21st Aug 2023 - 08:37:05)

A decision best left to the owner. None of our business really.

It is too boring not to have an opinion on this matter.

It is quite a sizeable building, plus the car park of course.

I suggest several residential maisonettes/flats.

Headley,
More traffic for the square?

D-it's an important and prominent building in the centre of the village, so it's the business of anyone interested in Liphook. As usual your view is out of line with most.

Passfield Resident, could not agree with you more Dawn.

Re: Lloyds Bank building
- Geofft (21st Aug 2023 - 18:56:22)

The building is listed on primelocation as available to rent for £71,000 per annum.

- Sam (21st Aug 2023 - 18:58:37)

Not often I agree with D but He/She is spot on, the building and what to do with it remains 100% the remit of the owner.

They can turn it into whatever they want subject to some planning or just let it rot away to nothing and there isn’t a thing any keyboard warriors or petition can do to influence it or stop it veering from the owners wishes.

Feel free to garner suggestions of what you want it to be but don’t imagine that you have any authority on the outcome just because you live here or yap about it being an important building etc

Liphook has a proud history of helping out those less fortunate than ourselves in times of need. In World War Two we hosted thousands of pregnant young women so they could give birth in a safe place without fear of being bombed in the process. In the late seventies we hosted Vietnamese boat people. We now find ourselves providing cheap housing for the economic refugees who cannot afford the house prices anywhere north of Haslemere. I think the building should be used to provide accommodation for some of those asylum seekers destined for the floating barge in Poole. Maybe the old stable building to the rear could be used for those people on Longmoor Road to fix their vehicles in. I'm sure all those who accuse me of doing nothing for the community will have no objection to this. 😄

- Amused (3rd Sep 2023 - 19:40:59)

Good old D away with the fairies again. What stable building?. are you thinking of the Anchor because the stables are behind there. One being used by LIB for storage. As for the people using the lay-by for dismantling vehicles and repairing cars why do they want help?? they are probably making a very decent living from what they are doing. And why make it into accommodation for illegal emigrants when we have so many young people desperately needing housing . Make it into housing for first time buyers.

- Resident (4th Sep 2023 - 09:20:40)

Glad you put a smiley face on your post D . But you still haven’t told us what you actually do for liphook?? do you volunteer or perhaps you’re on the council because they don’t get paid so give us a clue what you do for liphook. If you have time there are plenty of organisations crying out for help that are making liphook a better place to live.

- Still waiting (5th Sep 2023 - 08:56:23)

D you still haven’t answered Residents questions.
What are you waiting for or hiding from?
Everyone is waiting for the answers.

Note you managed to find time to post on the lay by thread first thing this morning and ignored the questions.

Ducking diving bobbing and weaving springs to mind.
Guess you must live in the “grey” area, with your regular dodging stunts.
