Parish Plan - Team Gets Organised
Enthusiastic volunteers got going last Thursday evening (28th Oct), to form the team to drive the new Liphook Parish Plan.
Under a nationwide initiative, parishes are encouraged to produce community generated plans to steer how they develop over 5-10 years.
The 12 strong Steering Committee divided responsibility for key aspects of Liphook life, ensuring that dependent hamlets will be well represented.
New Chairman, Robin Young of local Age Concern said, “I was truly delighted by the attendance, passion and contribution at the meeting. It proves that apathy is dead and Liphook is enormously keen to manage its future. Other parishes have been revitalised by their plans and I am confident that we can win significant benefits for Liphook.”
To produce a truly community owned plan; it is independent of the Parish Council. Planners need to hear views from the wider community, input from all groups, businesses and organisations about issues affecting all of us.
The team also welcomes support in two key areas, liaising with government and co-ordinating input from residential groups. You don’t need to be expert, just enthusiastic.
Full team composition and contact details, will be published shortly.
“Not everyone will want to be actively involved,” says Robin Young. “but I would like to encourage everyone to talk to us about their personal interests and concerns”
