Barking apologies
- Ginny (9th Oct 2023 - 07:54:50)

Please accept my apologies if you were woken up this morning at 6.30 in The Avenue by my barking dog . He is only 7 months old and has walked every morning down the road in silence but for some unknown reason was unusually riled today by a passing runner to the point that even sausages and cheese couldn't distract him. I'm assuming it's the dreaded adolescence kicking in. I'm very much hoping I can nip any repeats of this behaviour in the bud with continued training and hopefully you won't be hearing from him again !

Goodness me Ginny - I only wish some people who live near me were as thoughtful and aware as you are with regard to their barking dogs!

Ginny

If he wakes me again I'll pop round and join him for sausages and cheese- beats a breakfast of cornflakes

Wish everyone was as considerate didn’t hear your dog but as Mike said sounds a good breakfast and I’m only Three doors up from Mike have had several dogs training is the key you’re on the right path good luck.

Ginny

I definitely hears a dog barking last week and it MUST have been Floyd because no other dog owner in the area offers food as an apology.

Is it OK for Russ and I to come for breakfast on Saturday morning? I'll bring the ketchup and Russ will bring the brown sauce

Sorry Mike
You're right Floyd still occasionally woofs as he passes your house but hopefully, with the help of the sausages he's learning that leaves blowing and car doors slamming in the dark aren't actually anything scary! I've upped my game to using doggie hot dogs lately but you and Russ are very welcome to come and try some as long as you both 'Sit!', 'Stay!' ' Wait' and 'Leave' nicely. However you'll be glad to hear I won't be expecting either of you to walk sensibly on a lead!
In the meantime I'll keep practicing Floyd's 'Quiet' command on our early morning strolls 🤞😁

I expect it was the runners squeaky bum cheeks that upset your puppy, hopefully he'll apply a little more vaseline in future....

What a lovely posting this is.
Makes a change from all the moans, groans and nasty remarks.
Good luck with the training

Well Mike you have started something now looks like we have got to sit and beg and not pee on the flowers. How well are you house trained?

What Sandy said!

Ginny and Russ

I think Russ and I are most of the way there. We're both happy to 'sit', 'stay' and 'wait' although our snoring may disturb you more than Floyd's barking- depending of course on how long we 'stay'.

My problem is the 'leave' command. I only read plural when I see that word and, frankly, I'm fed up with 'leaves'. This time of year they take over my life- why can't they all fall down the same day and get it over with instead of making life a misery for weeks on end.

Anyway, happy to try the 'hot dogs' if my poor performance with the 'leaves' can be forgiven.
