Chairman steps down
Terry Burns dropped something of a bombshell at the annual Local Competition Presentation for Liphook In Bloom on Wednesday night , when he announced he was stepping down as chairman of the committee.
He plans to devote more time to restoring a 1934 Austin 10, something he has been waiting to do for many years.
He has been the driving force behind the LIB team as the 90 prizewinners, sponsors, guests and friends who filled the Millennium Hall agreed when they applauded him.
He felt that it was now time for someone else to "take the reins" and guide the organisation to future growth.
