Liphook Play Park Project
Public Consultation - Want to have a say in the design of the play areas in the Recreation Ground at Liphook? Do you have an item of equipment or feature that you would like? If you do, then come to the Liphook Millennium Hall in Liphook on 14 or 15 January 2011.
Following a petition by local parents last year, Bramshott & Liphook Parish Council put the refurbishment of the play areas out to tender as part of a project to re-vitalise the two play areas on the Recreation Ground at Liphook. Kompan Unique Playgrounds were selected to take the project forward and a consultation process is now underway. It is hoped that the final design will be approved in April and the work can start during the summer.
“We are delighted to be involved in this important project” said Mr Chris Dixon of Kompan who will be managing the project. “We do need parents and children to come and give us their views on the layout, provision and design of the play areas and we look forward to hearing what they have to say” he added. Parish Council Chairman, Councillor Nigel Newman urged people to come to the sessions “We want to hear from as many people as possible so please spare the time to come along as you will be most welcome”.
The Public Consultation sessions will be held between 2-6pm on Friday 14 January 2011 and again on Saturday 15 January between 10am-4pm. An initial design proposal will be available for viewing, together with an opportunity to discuss the design and make comments on a questionnaire. There will also be a chance for younger children to be involved by drawing their design or building their own play models. A local resident has offered to provide a £25 prize for the best drawing/model. Refreshments will be provided.
