EU - Not surprised (24th Nov 2023  10:39:22) Having seen the going’s on in Europe it seems the EU is falling apart. Member countries are very disappointed in the way the EU are operating. Looks like we did the right thing in leaving a sinking ship. We seem to be going from strength to strength now we are independent again.

Re: EU - Polly (24th Nov 2023  13:38:51) Not Surprised- I’m definitely not looking to get involved in political debate, especially on this platform. However, I feel your comments ‘going from strength to strength’ may be a tad optimistic regardless of how you voted in the referendum!

Re: EU - Sam (24th Nov 2023  17:24:46) Falling apart… yeah right.. because one Boris Johnson alike populist leader in Holland won the most seats (yet still isn’t in charge and might not ever be) running on a campaign of blame the immigrants. It’s true that the daily mail style sweep of populist leaders will continue but the Dutch won’t be leaving the EU, a founding member whom also sees the destruction that Brexit caused and still causes today I think the only change your going to see in Europe is no one else leaving it as the cost is too high. Brexit took us from marginally important to not important at all on the world stage and the country is slowly sinking down the pan, once we have blown all the cash on the war machine all we have to look forward to is ever rising costs and little to no international income apart from some token trade deals for meat from Australia which in turn will put our own farmers into the dole queue.. And as all this is happens and happened already there isn’t one single fact or benefit that has come from brexit, no golden uplands other than some random sound bites about at least we get to decide now… I mean look at immigration, it’s doubling every year since… what control did you actually take back… things would have been different if we stayed, EU could have helped us and kept the conservatives in check.. now they don’t give a toss, if anything now there sending the immigrants to us as we are no longer on the same team.
