New barber
- Jeff (29th Nov 2023 - 11:37:07)

Anyone know when the new Turkish barber in Station Road will be open? It seems that no town is complete without one!

I see there is also one opening in the old MAP financial office!

The National Crime Agency pointed out in March 23 that Turkish Barber's are increasingly being used as fronts for crime, people trafficking and money laundering.

That's not to say this is about to happen in Liphook, of course.

I just went to the new Barbers next to the military shop and chinese takeaways and it was fantastic. Really looked after me and did an amazing haircut - very much recommended

Station Road barber opens on 29th January.

There must be a lot of laundering to be done with all the Turkish barbers opening!
Can’t wait to see Liam Neeson drop in for the filming of Taken 4.

We had just one barbers in Liphook for a number of years. Do we really need 4 now.

We need more barbers, more nail bars, vape shops, estate agents, take-aways and massage parlours. It's the sign of a sound economy.

We don't need butchers, greengrocers and traditional bakers any more. We get fabulous quality stuff from the supermarkets at bargain prices.

Pity about the farmers, but they don't work in the City, so they don't really contribute to the economy.

New barbers opening with fully kitted out shops, plenty of Turkish barbers around all of a sudden. Where do they get the money from *sniff sniff*

Re: New barber
- Luke (27th Jan 2024 - 12:50:03)

The new one coming to station road probably got the money from their already established barber shop. No need for negativity...

There’s also another Turkish barber shop moving in across from the Green Dragon and also a Greggs next to the Lazy Lizard. I was talking to the guy who owns the property last week and it all sounds very positive.
Does anyone know what’s happening with the old Lloyds building, I did hear Madhuban were looking at it for a sit in restaurant which would be amazing!

Re: New barber

I think another estate agents has just signed the lease for the Lloyd’s Bank building. Bournes I heard

Re: New barber

Another estate agent wouldn’t be very good. There’ll be a load of overly gelled cocky young men dressed in cheap Tesco suits driving around with noisey cars!
There’s a certain type of individual who works in an estate agent and they leave a trail of slime between them as they crawl down the street!
The more estate agents there is in an area the more Turkish barbers there is!

Re: New barber
- Dave Jackson (27th Jan 2024 - 21:05:23)

I suppose supply does tend to follow where the demand is Bradley. Turkish barbers do provide good greased up haircuts with go faster stripes and white powder to suit which the young male estate agents love.
Watch out for the red lights above the barbers shop as they like that too.

Re: New barber
- paul (27th Jan 2024 - 22:38:18)

Hi,
Liphook now seems such an enterprising village. Why not have a Turkish Estate agent?

Re: New barber
- Joe (28th Jan 2024 - 07:47:48)

Think there is a new meaning to “ something for the weekend Sir? “ think the police are very well aware of the connections in our high streets now. If there were no customers though, the places would not last long.

Re: New barber
- Dave Langley (28th Jan 2024 - 08:07:09)

I wonder will they give us the full experience and stand outside next to their black secondhand BMW while approaching people passing by asking “You like hair cut come on in”.
We do still need a nice sit down Indian restaurant in Liphook for anyone who’s listening or considering it!

Re: New barber
- PR (28th Jan 2024 - 08:35:15)

How about ...... a decent Turkish Restaurant ?

Re: New barber
- C (28th Jan 2024 - 09:06:53)

Please tell me you’re joking about Greggs…..

Bradley Smith

You may well have a point, but I expect the average Estate Agent has a better knowledge of English grammar than you do, despite the slime, car, and clothing, as in your somewhat bizarre vision.

What out of interest is your occupation ?

Re: New barber
- Bradley Smith (28th Jan 2024 - 15:50:42)

Hi Anonymouse, I appreciate English may not be your first language and if you’re going to stay anonymous then you’ve lost all credibility!
