Anyone know how to report abandoned road signs?
- C (9th Jan 2024 - 18:25:22)

Hi, just been on the EHDC website to report all the abandoned yellow direction and diversion signs (not to mention sandbags and metal supports) that are littering London Road up to and on the A3. Can’t see any logical signposting on the website to do this, nor any contact email address. Would be grateful if anyone knows. Thanks.

Is a bit unnecessary.

Yes there is a road closure - it's in Lindford!

So why the hell are they diverting at every junction pointing towards Bordon - you know, Bordon - that place you can go through to avoid Lindford.

Nearest place the sign should be is at Passfield Stores junction.

I would think Hampshire Highways they are responsible for all roads.

Roads and road signs are a county council responsibility, not district council (apart for trunk roads like the A3, which is central government)

So Hampshire County Council in Winchester is the authority round here - nothing to do with EHDC in Petersfield.

On A3 slip roads, the responsibility may be a grey area, with neither London or Winchester carrying the can.

Would suggest using fixmystreet.com for anything roads or highway related. It does all the leg-work for you ....

If you do speak to the council regarding the road signs can you suggest they remove every “Except for Access” signs they waste money on, you know the sign that has the motorbike jumping over a car.

Unenforceable waste of money those signs, basically means park here whenever you like as it’s a still public road, but one of the residents thinks they own the road so the council wasted money on a pointless sign to shut them up.

Hi

I agree all the signs are bonkers and often in crazy places, but just FYI, the diversion starting in Liphook is for Lorries primarily. If they got as far as Passfield Stores to get to Lindford, the diversion would not be suitable for them, so they are diverted in Liphook via the A3. Just FYI, otherwise I completely agree.
