VANDALS
- LOTTIE (15th Feb 2024 21:14:47)
Are there no depths to which these destructive idiots will not stoop? A beautiful bank of daffodils, lovingly planted and tended on the Haslemere Road just past the entrance to The Maltings now lies desecrated, the flowers plucked and thrown on the ground.
Why do 'they' always destroy? Such useless individuals.

Upbringing, and lack thereof.

Sorry to read this. So sad and mindless.

Letās spend 200k on a skatepark for them, for itās entirely everyone elseās fault there isnāt enough for them to do around here.
A new skatepark and a massive hole in the local budget should keep them occupied vandalising the new one for a few years before they say itās terrible/no longer works and turn their attention back to the daffodils.

@Sam
How about a daffodil park? It will give the vandals something destructive to do, but won't cost taxpayers nearly as much as a skatepark!

Unfortunately, with much of the new builds in Liphook attracting a certain type, this behaviour is becoming more commonplace.

Yes Sam, Thankyou! you are so right! I've seen the skatepark there is now and I've never seen such crap, my neighbours kid has given up on it and just made his own ramp to use outside. on top of that the basketball court is bloody pathetic, I mean who on earth plays basketball on grass? not to mention the state the hoop is in. we cant change the shops we have hear or any other attractions for local kids but we can at least improve what we already have.

There is a decent skate park in Haslemere, next to the Herons sports centre. Perhaps jump on the train and go there. It's free to use and you can have coffee, whilst you're children play.

I was being entirely sarcastic about the skatepark, for a number of reasons.
1. They cost at least 200k
2. The previous skatepark was mostly destroyed within its first year
3. The previous one was sited in entirely the wrong place attracting āmy little Johnny butter wouldnāt meltā to skin up, get pissed and tell any bystanders to F off at the top of their lungs.
We canāt afford a new one, and legal action has already been muted should they consider doing it in the same place.
Go to haslemere or Bordon for the day

@Sam - not sure if you spotted it, but this was a thread about daffodils getting ripped up in The Mead. Nothing to do with the skatepark, but well done for getting your single-interest topic in randomly.

- Sam (19th Feb 2024 18:35:34)
Paul2.. the post has a title of (VANDALS) and the skatepark was also vandalised, which is actually probably the most costly and expensive thing ever vandalised in Liphook, 100k down the drain.
everyoneās response bar yours is on the subject of vandalism yet your response is about some flowers and meā¦. Was I supposed to stick to flowers only for no one else did, why single me out? Perhaps Paul2 wants to buy me flowers?
Very weird, go and have a good think, try a fake name and come back when your better prepared

@Sam, as you say the title was Vandals and the word āskateparkā was absent from the thread until you mentioned it. Five times, to be precise. Therefore, it is correct to say you introduced a topic of your specific interest into a thread that hadnāt previously mentioned it.
If you wish me to buy you some flowers, Iād happily do that. If there is a way youād like that to happen that preserves your anonymity please let me know? A beautiful bouquet of spring blossoms might brighten your day and mood.
Paul is my name, itās not fake. Unless my parents lied to me about my birth certificate. I use ā2ā after my name here to distinguish me from some other Paulās whoās views Iād donāt agree with or wish to be confused with.
I am prepared.
Perhaps once you have also āthought about itā, you could create your own thread entitled āSkateparkā to share your views on the, er, what was it you keep mentioning ā¦ ?

Re: VANDALS
- Sam (26th Feb 2024 13:24:05)
Youāre just bitter when anything negative is said about the skatepark or the possibility of a new one. And all that bitterness does is garner more opposition to those that understand the following.
FACT - previous skatepark was vandalised from its first week until its demise.
FACT - previous skatepark was an anti social behaviour hub.
FACT - new proposal in same site will meet already fully prepared legal objections.
FACT - new skatepark will be well in excess of 100k prob 200k (we canāt afford it)
FACT - online campaign to get a new skatepark on Facebook which has been up and running for over a year still only has 21 likes, hardly the sort of numbers worth spanking that sort of money on, you need 1000 signatures to be able taken seriously enough to get a meeting about it.
We are not anti skatepark or anti investment in youth around here, but the skatepark was a massively expensive flop and there are many decent skateparks nearby. There are 100 other cheaper things with more users than a skatepark.
For that price you could build a youth club. So keep bringing it up and stop huffing when itās rightly shot down

I do have to agree, the skatepark was vandalised just like the flowers, am sure the flowers whilst itās horrible that it happened didnāt cost the same as the skatepark. Sam you need to cool off but thanks for airing a pretty solid view on how we shouldnāt waste that sort of money again? 200k for thatā¦.. nope 100% nope, you could spend 1k on the football club and it would make ten times as many kids happy.

Sam. It now sounds like a 'you' problem. Your attempts at deflecting your own anger onto others is sad, hope you are okay.

Think Sam has embodied the spirit of Rafa Benitez when he had his "Facts" rant with Sir Alex Ferguson. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Facebook campaign he/she/they refers to with 21 likes, actually was created in Nov 2013, now defunct. The more recent Liphook Pump track Facebook page has attracted more likes since creation in October, but whether that bears fruition is probably cost prohibitive again. Apologies to the original poster Lottie for going off topic again about the desecration of the flowers.

Re: VANDALS
- Sam (26th Feb 2024 20:59:15)
(How to get a new skatepark / pump track starter pack)
1. Never mention that anti-social behaviour occurred even though you witnessed / participated / or could have stopped. - pretend it never happened.
2. Never mention that the previous skatepark was destroyed within weeks. Pretend it never happened.
3. Never discuss the costs of a new facility even proportional costs relative to other things the village might need or who pays for it.
4. Always attack those whom mention 1.2.3 as their concerns are invalid.
5. Work the kids card, say things like there is nothing for kids to do around here.
6. Blame older people.
