Barbers Station Road
- Jim Smith (23rd Feb 2024 - 14:31:37)

Has anyone else seen a van pull up outside the barber shop on station road at about 4am every other day? There seems to be more activity in the early hours than in the afternoon on the premises. I’m usually out walking the dog and hence taken notice.

For what it's worth: Report to the police or HMRC, they might just pretend to be doing their duty.

Really decent professional barbers providing a great service.
I was wondering did anyone else see Batman & Robin chasing Humpty Dumpty down the Portsmouth Rd at 0400 last night?.
It's probably best if I report it to the Police!!!

Do they do ladies hair too after 9pm? There does appear to be a lot of young ladies present in the late evening.

I am more concerned about you 'walking your dog at 4am ' .why don't you go and ask them instead of making assumptions on here.

Wow !! What on earth is this about ? A white van parked on station road every other day in the early hours is hardly a reason to try and assume that a new business is up to all sorts is absolutely ridiculous.
Do you not realise the damage you can do to someone’s reputation with these outrageous claims of basically not being a barbers and that it’s a cover up for other things !!
We have a flower delivery at Alfie’s flowers every other day early hours of the morning by a white van are we also covering up for something else other than flowers ?
This seems to me like there’s certain people in the village that have a problem with these guys setting up shop in liphook and are trying to give them a bad name.
Personally having met them all I’ve never met a bunch of lovely down to earth guys in my life & we at Alfie’s flowers welcome them and wish them all the very best in their new business.
From the many customers they have on a daily basis I believe they’re not going anywhere and are here to stay !!
Good luck guys & you’re always gonna haters that are gonna hate haha !! X

Disgusting accusations!!!… all they are trying to do is make a living. Some of these comments scream jealousy!! Let them be. Bringing new business to station road is just what’s needed… that side of the village seems to have been forgotten and with Alfie’s flowers being such a success this new barbers will only add to that! Give them a break

I live on Station road, I do not sleep much at night so I am usually up.
There are several white vans that deliver to shops in this road at night, often around 3.am. This is perfectly normal and just part of running a business.

There are some residential properties in that area I hope no one is disturbed at 3 AM. There are usually legal restrictions on when businesses can take delivery of their goods and they do not include 3 AM at night.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for your concern. We have done business in the local area for a number of years. You may know us from Haslemere. I can assure you the van is nothing to do with my shop, as I'm not aware what goes on in the area after 7pm as I don't live local.

If you do have genuine concern please do report to the police, I of course have no objections.

If you don't mind, can you please take the reg and pictures of the van. That way If it belongs to any other shops I can discuss with them.

Thank you.

Hi Paul,

I'm not sure what you're on about, as my guys leave the premises at 7pm.

If you do have any concerns or it's something I'm not aware of, next time please take a picture and do not hesitate to contact me on Facebook and I will get there to investigate.

Thank you.

Let's hope Paul and Jim take responsibility and act like adults and report any more ' suspicious ' behaviour to the police or contact the owners directly.
Petty comments about a local business shows how childish and immature some adults really are.

Joe, Yes I am one of those residential properties and indeed it can be somewhat disturbing at 3.am with van doors banging open.

Re: Barbers Station Road
- Sam (25th Feb 2024 - 16:33:10)

Jims comments and Paul’s comments on a previous barbers post seem to be indirectly attempting to do as much reputational damage as they both can to both new barbers.

I have been to one of the two new barbers and got a first class cut, price and chat, will 100% be going back, not least because I get my 10th cut free on a loyalty card.

If I had to wonder whom isn’t happy about the Turkish barbers I’d say it’s 1. The Racists (there are a few) or 2. The existing hairdressers in town seeing a drop in their trade and maybe thought it’s a good time to muddy the water with some fake name posts. Can’t say for sure but x2 quality barbers in town now, business is business and competition is part of business so may the best business win.

In the end the economics means the customer wins, best prices, best cuts and best banter will win.

- Bob (25th Feb 2024 - 18:12:56)

Can’t believe what I reading here, clearly an existing business afraid of some competition and trying to muddy the waters.
Hopefully there’s enough business to keep all four barbers busy in the area.
