Phantom shopping trolley discarder
- Weary (6th Mar 2024  21:43:26)

Who, what and why is someone / a group of people obsessed with bringing shopping trolleys from Sainsbury’s to various parts of Liphook (including frequently to the side of Haslemere Road)?

Boredom? Japes?

Am getting sick of reporting flipping trolleys to Sainsbury’s to collect. Find it baffling people can be bothered to go to the effort to move them so far from the shop. Sigh.

These unsociable characters are called poor people. They have no cars so use the trolleys to bring home their Gingster pies and cheap cider then they discard said trolley as they have low IQs and no sense of community or appearance.
There is a strong case for sterilisation so these people don’t create other same minded people to live in free houses paid for by us tax payers.

Richard makes a valid point albeit in a blunt way. Certainly Liphook does seem to now have a significant number of those types that have low social values who seem to relish in antisocial behaviour.

Richard- Don't think I have come across such an ignorant ill informed post as this, which is saying a lot for this site. Are you trying to stoke the fires of hatred and division for laughs or are you really that obnoxious.

Could it not just as likely be little rich kids, who's parents lavish gifts upon their offspring as a way of making up for the lack of time and attention they give their children in pursuit of the great god "Pound".

Social demographics have little to do with a persons sense of right and wrong, this is borne out by the very nice Range Rover I saw only yesterday stop in a layby and leave their bag of rubbish on the side of the road. Idiots are idiots rich or poor I wont go as far as to call you an idiot but your post is rather idiotic.

Just want to clarify that while I do contribute to Talkback I am NOT the Richard who made the second comment - totally different person

So Pete, you are stoking the prejudice against the well off just as much as the OP is doing so against the poor! How ironic!!!

As the OP I wish to make it clear I don’t blame any particular part of society for doing this. I just wish that people in general would stop leaving discarded shopping trolleys around!

Could we all just agree that the phantom trolley pushers are all median income earners, because there really are no deprived or super rich rich areas on the Haslemere Road!

In recent years the amount of social housing in Liphook has increased massively and this type of problem is connected. Its a fact, if you do see discarded trollies they are invariably in the council estates and areas of social housing
