Red Light At Pedestrian Crossing
- Billy (14th May 2024  16:14:49)

To the person driving the grey Honda FM07### on London Road today.
Stop picking your nose and look where you’re going.
That way, hopefully, you won’t drive through a red light at a pedestrian crossing again.

Maybe he had picked his brains out. I find the best time to pick and flick is while waiting at the lights enjoying my bananas

Adrian. You dirty dog! Stop copying me :)

Adrian, it is highly illegal to enjoy your banana whilst sitting at traffic lights, but picking your nose and driving is completely lawful, as far as I know. Driving through a red light whilst eating a banana and picking your nose however is treated very seriously.

Whilst we're on the subject it's not necessarily illegal to hold your phone whilst driving, but if you then use it to take a photo of your banana it is 6 points and interestingly it would appear that an ancient local bylaw allows Liphookonians to take the 3 mini roundabouts on completely the wrong side of the road and without indicating, but only when driving a suitably posh car, preferably German.

The rules of the road can be very confusing!

For a relatively unusual name there's seems to be lots of Adrian's in Liphook.
To be clear I am the first and original Adrian and the one who first brought up bannanna issues.
And remember the nose picker could not have been eating bananas and only green ones are sold in Liphook.
As for German cars indicating, I thought we all know on BMW's indicators are an optional extra.

I wonder what the odds are that the driver of that car A. Is aware of Liphook forum B. Reads the forum and has seen this message and C. Feels utterly corrected by this post and will take more care in future.

Wow Sam, you didn't mention that we all voted for the idiots who make the rules of the road so therefore it's all our own fault that people disobey them!
You're loosing your touch!

Despite who ever votes for whom and whom made whatever rules, this story is about an interaction between one drivers behaviour and a pedestrian’s observation, so I haven’t a clue how your linking it to voting and rules as it has no link at all.

Perhaps the driver should be taking more care, just like M should over a keyboard.

Ahh Sam, looks like you've lost your sense of humour?
I missed your usual retort to most posts that "we voted them in so it's all our fault".
Never mind, I'll stop trying to be humorous myself and learn my lesson.

Disappointing your simply repeating yourself now, everything ok ?

Yes Sam, all very good with me thanks, hope it is with you.
Was just taking my cue from you to be honest ;-)

This thread has not lived up to the hopes of its title. There was me thinking Liphook might be embracing an Amsterdam outlook and there might be some interesting shop windows to gaze at while waiting for pedestrians to cross.
