Postal votes
- Alan (25th Jun 2024 - 20:44:26)

Has anyone / everyone, who asked for them, received their postal votes yet ?

Alan

No not yet.
Said they should have been sent out last Friday

Re: Postal votes
- J (26th Jun 2024 - 10:42:35)

No not yet. The notice I was sent said that if the postal vote is not received by Friday 28th, phone 01730 234350.

Re: Postal votes
- Alan (26th Jun 2024 - 10:57:46)

Thanks, I was worried ours were lost.

Re: Postal votes
- J (26th Jun 2024 - 13:43:24)

Ours have just now been delivered in today's post.

Re: Postal votes
- Anthea (26th Jun 2024 - 17:29:00)

Still not received mine

Re: Postal votes
- J (26th Jun 2024 - 20:05:02)

Mine arrived today, in the post ready to be counted at the GE.

Didn’t vote Tory or Reform

Now it’s time for a holiday.

Re: Postal votes
- Anthea (27th Jun 2024 - 16:48:28)

Still not recd mine.
According to the electoral services office they were sent out on 19-20 June via Royal Mail.

They won’t send out replacements until tomorrow if you havnt recd yours ring 01730 234350

Trusting Royal Mail to deliver them in time? Unlikely

If by chance a replacement arrives before Thursday will have to visit a polling station to cast vote

No postal vote no vote as too late to revert to voting in public

Another fine mess

Be interested to know if anyone else is in this situation or is it me !!
Thanks

Our's arrived in Liphook today. Not impressed by the postal service.

The sooner Amazon takes over the postal service the better we’ll all be. Jeff will show them how it should be handled.

Re: Postal votes

They have arrived 👍

Re: Postal votes
- J (28th Jun 2024 - 10:16:28)

For those who've only just received their postal voting forms and have missed today's collection time for their local postbox (ours is collected at 9.00am):

The post box outside the Millennium Hall has a later collection time than many of the other posting boxes, which is useful to know.

I think it's collected at around 4.00pm, so there's still plenty of time to get your forms in the post today.

Ours have finally arrived today on Haslemere Road. Good suggestion from J in the above post but I believe the sorting office on Portsmouth Road has the latest collection in the area (5pm I think) so that might be your best bet. Fingers crossed they get back in time!

We can't vote, we went on holiday yesterday and they arrived today! Can't ask our son to do proxy vote either as registered for postal vote.

This is not good enough EHDC it's not our fault you can't get your act together.

Re: Postal votes
- J (29th Jun 2024 - 10:23:37)

I heard something about delayed postal voting forms on the Today programme this morning. Unfortunately, it seems that the reliance on Royal Mail might be a big part of the problem. Mail simply isn't getting delivered quickly enough.

The simple answer, surely, would be to send the voting forms out much earlier.

Re: Postal votes
- Pp (29th Jun 2024 - 18:35:46)

Postal votes are a nonsence..should be restricted to disabled and forces abroad

Re: Postal votes
- E (29th Jun 2024 - 19:34:49)

Pp why are postal votes pointless, there is no reason for them to be restricted, I am in my 20s and have had to get a postal vote due to my commitments outside of the UK, postal votes are important they support democracy.

The far right need to stop putting up blockades for democracy, first it was Voter ID now this.
