£560,000 for EHDC
Urban Renaissance Villages honours its pledge to support affordable housing in East Hampshire with a cheque for £560,000.
East Hampshire Councillor and Housing Portfolio holder Jennifer Grey, Alisdair Tweddle, S.106 Monitoring Officer for EHDC and Helen Cann, the Council's Housing Development Project Officer were delighted to attend a ceremony at Bramshott Place Village in Liphook on 10th June to be presented with a cheque for £560,000 from developers Urban Renaissance Villages/ Helical Bar plc. Bramshott Place Village Manager Sue Lapicski presented the cheque.
It is the second instalment in a commitment from the developers to give a total of £1.7 million to East Hampshire District Council for the provision of affordable housing. The first payment was made in 2010, and now, with the completion of the 45th home at Bramshott Place Village, the next payment has been made.
Bramshott Place Village provides luxury retirement living, but other kinds of specialised housing are also required in East Hampshire, including affordable homes for those who want to get onto the housing ladder. A payment of this size will give the Council greater flexibility and the opportunity to secure a wider range of affordable housing across the whole district, to meet a whole range of identified housing needs.
