charity shop pricing
- Kara (8th Aug 2024  17:31:32)

Hello,
I went into the cancer research charity shop in Liphook, in the window it clearly says all ladies clothing Ā£5 each item, I picked up a casual trouser 2 piece clearly hung together and the label said 2 piece, I went to pay and checked the item would be Ā£5 and the server told me "no that's 2 items" and it will be Ā£5 each even though the pieces where being sold together as 1 item. The price label in fact said Ā£9.50 so it would of been cheaper to purchase it at the original ticket price. I said their pricing was stupid and I put the item back, the server then removed it from the rail. What's your opinion? should it of been sold for Ā£5, Ā£10 or the Ā£9.50 original ticket price ?

I would suggest that if you think about what the item would have cost you if you had brought it new from the shops and secondly as the money is going to a worthwhile cause isnā€™t it worth donating the extra 50p ?

I agree with you Kara, but it would help if the old man gave you a bit more pocket money, then you could go to M&S.

If the label says ā€œ2 piecesā€ I think that means there are two items to pay for.

The OP put two piece, not two pieces.
Means two completely different things.

Ā£5 each item, two piece = top and bottom = x2 items, Iā€™d have said I just want the trousers if the shop keeper than said no they come together like a pair of socks then Iā€™d have given her Ā£5

I think the charity shop should have sold it to you for Ā£5 because it would have made a sale. Charity shops are groaning with clothes and charity begins at home or locally in this case.

I went in the other day and was told all clothes Ā£5.00. Trouble was there were tops for Ā£4.50. They hadn't thought it through. Had to sell at the original price.
