Bordon dump to stay open!
- Jon (14th Oct 2024 14:28:59)
Good news, HCC has voted to save the HWRC's. Full cabinet meeting on you tube (HWRC vote around 2:38 on video)

Unusually sense has prevailed.
Well done Andy Tree and his colleagues at Whitehill Town Council.
He has just mailed me in confirmation.,

Excuse me. But are we supposed to be grateful?
Those of us that care about the disposal of waste, and here I include littering. Why should Hampshire Council County feel they should absolved themselves from responsibility?

OK, we got what we wanted, keeping the local dumps temporarily...
But there's still an awkward £175 million shortfall in the council budget, so they will still be cutting back on of a wide range of other services, already they've announced £2 million cuts to homeless support and we can now expect a lot more young British men visibly living and dying on our streets, (people fleeing France not included as refugees have seperate ring fenced benefits).
Is this not just a case of appeasing the vocal masses, everyone is relieved now the dumps got a reprieve, but while everyone is busy celebrating, the problem is far from solved and the long knives must still come out in a wide range of other areas!
