school run mums
- SteveCooke (16th Oct 2024  09:00:22)

My goodness me, I do not want to sound sexist but this morning in The Square highlighted just how shocking the driving standards and etiquette are on the morning school run....and sorry ladies, other than white van man, you are the worst offenders. Some suggestions

*do not use your mobile phones when driving
*put your coffee in the beverage holder so you can negotiate the roundabouts with both hands on the steering wheel.
* stop applying your makeup and concentrate on the traffic flow.
* give way to the right

We definitely need a copper on duty in the mornings to dish out some fines

And it isn't just in the Square ! All roads local to the schools have the same problem both morning and afternoon. I avoid going out and time my shopping so that I can be out of the way by 2.45pm !!!

Yes and using the avenue as a rat run at breakneck speed in their massive 4x4's.

Im sure they all jumped onto talkback to hear your dressing down. Pointless really, we all know the standard of driving everywhere in particular the square at peak times is shockingly bad.

No indicators, further delaying opportunities to move along, no paying attention, aggressive straight lining of roundabouts when if they simply went around they wouldn't be blocked by a crossing car.

We are devolving as a species and you've got a front row seat :D

Don’t normally agree with Steve Cooke but he is spot on here. The standard of driving on the school run is appalling, ladies, get off your phones whilst driving please, think of your children’s wellbeing!!!
