Sainsburys changes
- Viv (23rd Oct 2024  12:37:37)

What on earth has happened in Sainsburys. I will never go in with my mobility scooter again. There are barriers to enter and exit, they have caged the reduced self service areas into 3 tight spaces, the handheld shopping gadgets are hidden away and, don't work. the whole shop floor seems in chaos besides being dirty and untidy. Stock variety has been reduced Very disappointed. Will carry on with shopping online.

Dear Viv,

If you have the time, it might be worth penning an e-mail to Sainsbury's CEO at Head Office - Mr. Simon Roberts, about your concerns for disabled access etc.
E mail address:- simon.roberts@sainsburys.co.uk

I wrote to him only this last week complaining about the lack of served, conveyor belt tills, some of which have ben replaced with yet more self-serve tills, which seemed to be standing idle. I have spoken with quite a few customers who like to be served on the conveyor belt system - and we can only assume this is a cost cutting exercise. However, out of the five existing served tills, only three were in operation and the queues were long.

I did flag this up to Mr. Roberts, plus the fact that the Christmas queues will be horrendous! Also, many of us prefer the social interaction with the till operators. It's all part of the shopping experience, surely.

You have a point about the access for disabled etc., and unfortunately I missed that. However, it might be worth penning an e-mail to the above CEO and describing your experience. The more they hear - hopefully the more they may take notice.

I have received a reply from one of the CEO's assistants, assuring me that they will look into the matter etc., but whether anything will change, I somehow doubt! We can only hope they might listen to their customers!

Good luck - if you decide to write - and do let us know how you get on, if you do.
