Cash Point Machine at Sainsbury's - Not paying out
- Trevor Maroney (5th Mar 2025 - 13:00:10)

I have just made a complaint to Sainsbury's that the cash point is not paying out. The explanation I have received and accepted is that following the sale of Sainsburys' bank the management and software is being changed today. Hence a different format on the screen.

The French lady in front of me failed to receive the £10 she requested. I explained that it might have run out of £10 notes; so I tried asking for £20. Having put that sum in it disappeared and seem to want me to put in another sum; at that point I press cancel and went home to check my account - so far nothing has been withdraw and my bank card was returned. There had been a delay in returning the lady's card.

My recommendation is that anyone wanting cash should wait a day or 2 and try again when, hopefully things may have settle down. Alternatively you can pay for goods in the store with a debt card and ask for a cash withdraw. I am presuming that Sainsburys still offer that service.

I hope that this posting helps heal the frustration that I and others felt.

Trevor
