Headley Road works - NO notice from council
- Michael Smith (30th Mar 2025 09:23:48)
Did anyone else not know about the road works down Headley Road ?
While I appreciate the quality of the work and the improvements made, I was disappointed by the lack of communication and notice prior to the commencement of the project, maybe the council were all on holiday?
As a resident, adequate notice is essential to allow us to plan and adjust accordingly. The lack of timely information caused inconvenience and disruption, which could have been avoided with proper communication.
I know of mutliple cases where other local residents have had to try and get to Passfield or Lindford to then do a much longer drive around via A3 and Bordon.
Can I ask, with rise in council tax, for someone to buy a printer and some stamps to let residents, whom are served by the council to actually know about major projects.
Communication is the key to success..

Great comment.
It is annoying, and a waste of time and fuel to drive from Headley to go to Liphook, and arrive anywhere from Passfield to the bridge over the A3 to find the road closed with no notification.
OK, not the end of the world with all the rest that's going on, but not helping with a greener planet.

And maybe they could do some work on the roads.

OMG!! So, driving back from Passfield to Liphook after the surprise 'roadworks' finished last week, I couldn't believe that they seemed to have done nothing at all. The potholes and collapsed edges of the road are exactly the same. Going again in daylight today I realised that the footpath for most of that distance has been made to look newer. Unfortunately my car is a bit too wide to use the new surfacing. The three or four people who regularly walk that route must be well pleased, however the thousands of us stupid enough to risk using our vehicles on the adjacent 'road' are probably less impressed. It is difficult to see the logic behind closing the road................. to do nothing more than re-surface the footpath. Well done to whoever planned (or evidently not) this fiasco!!
