Hi,
The U.S. President's decision on tariffs, that could cause a World recession.
Will this knock consumer confidence to spend in Liphook?

No. Whatever financial hardship may befall the rest of the world, the laws of economics mercifully don't apply to Liphook in Hampshire, England.
And that's due to the fact that it's a special, mystical place like Avalon.

Of course it could, and it will. Any change of government in our country or in one that we have close ties with, will have an effect - particularly with someone as unpredictable as Trump.
His tariff sanctions against the EU are more severe than against UK, so we may have a small advantage there. I don't think it will be catastrophic for the UK.
We sell about as much as we buy from the US. I don't think people will be quite so keen to buy US goods as they were - maybe this will backfire on Trump. Personally, I hope so.

No sign of the special relationship we thought was going to bail us out thought, yes some got heavier hits but some of those still have free trade which each other, there is a mass of unusual countries also on the 10% we are on.
It’s time to decouple entirely from the USA, starting with physical products then move onto services, it doesn’t have to be 100% but best effort still hurts them.. we can thank JD Vance for that.
The US started and stoked the flames of the Cold War with there anti communist agenda and used Europe and us as a proxy for their aims, now bored of Russia they have abandoned what they fuelled and want to move onto prejudicial aims against China and Asia and let us clean up their mess so the mask is off, the USA and their voters hate us and aren’t interested in their ally’s anymore.
In a world within which AI and Robot automation is starting to kick in Don’s big idea is to bring manufacturing back to the USA appears like a massive mistake for them.
JD Vance has made it clear, we are nothing more than an irritation to the USA, so let’s part terms, we shall buy our own crap going forward, no more poorly made American goods
