Making tracks
Back in 2010 a course about building a model railway was run as a joint venture between Liphook U3A and Liphook & District Model Railway Club. Following the success of this venture a new 12 week course is starting towards the end of March on Wednesday afternoons between 3 and 5 p.m. and there are still a few places available.
The course will cover the whole process from selecting a suitable scale, locations in the home that might be suitable, planning the layout, constructing baseboards, laying track, constructing scenery, scale buildings etc. through to realistic operating and the joys and pitfalls of exhibiting.
Anyone interested in snapping up one of the last few places needs to act quickly to stand a chance of getting onto this course in time for the first meeting on Wednesday, 28th March.
