PC Simon Wright
Crimestoppers has paid tribute to a Hampshire police officer for dedicating 13 years to the charity and to fighting local crime.
PC Simon Wright was presented with a commemorative clock at the charity’s Regional Conference to mark his time working with the Crimestoppers Hampshire and Isle of Wight committee.
“Simon has played a vital role in the success of the local committee in Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Working tightly with volunteers, the police force and local media he continually seeks out ways to engage with the public and raise awareness of the charity’s anonymous information giving services,” acknowledged Julia Hughes, Crimestoppers Regional Manager.
“Simon has been absolutely pivotal to the successful arrest and charge of 1000s of local criminals who may otherwise still be in our communities. His continual engagement with the public helps ensure our most vulnerable communities can begin to live in areas free from fear and crime.”
A regular on local radio and a prolific user of Twitter, Simon keeps the public up to date on local criminal activity and urges those not wishing to reveal their own identities to give information on crime anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
