Community fund open

Lifting the lid on South East Water’s Community Chest has revealed £30,000 to share between local good causes.

The Company has just launched the Fund and is calling on people to spread the word by going onto its website to apply online for a donation.

Community groups, charities and not-for-profit organisations within the water Company’s supply area can apply for donations of anything from a few pounds up to £2,500.

Applications are open to group projects that are water related or environmental or help the young, old or disadvantaged. A full criteria is available on the website.

All requests for funding are to be submitted by midnight on 31st October 2013. Successful organisations will be informed about their funding from 19th November 2013 with the presentations of the funds taking place soon afterwards.

Christine King, Corporate Communications Manager, South East Water said: “Our work brings us into daily contact with lots of local communities to which we already supply top quality drinking water every day.

“But we are also keen to play our part in the wider health of these local communities, and so are running the Community Chest Fund again this year to directly help projects that need a little extra financial help to make a difference.”

Visit www.southeastwater.co.uk/communitychest to read the full criteria, find out who benefited from the Fund last year and to apply. Anyone wanting more information can contact South East Water’s Communications Department communitychest@southeastwater.co.uk
