Liphook U3A Summer Break Ends
A new season of monthly meetings and interesting talks is about to start at Liphook U3A.
After the Summer break in July and August everyone is now looking forward to getting back to normal on Monday, 1st September, when we kick off with
“The World of the Wildlife Photographer” when David Boag will tell us about his 35 years
of photography and will take us to 5 continents. Although it is difficult to pick a favourite place,
subject or best photograph, during his talk David will certainly try!
On 6th October Denise Quienny’s talk is entitled “A Tudor Cabinet of Curiosities” The speaker
dresses in original costumes and uses replica Tudor objects – these are handled by the
audience with full participation expected.
On 3rd November “The travels of JWM Turner” is the title given to Barnard Allan’s talk.
While the Napoleonic wars precluded continental travel in his early years, where he concentrated
on sketching tours of Britain during the Summer. As soon as peace allowed he became a
professional tourist, visiting such places as France, Switzerland, Germany and Italy.
Monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at the Millennium Centre, Liphook.
Starting at 2.00 p.m., admission is £3 for visitors and £2 for members, including tea/coffee and
biscuits after the talk.
