Liphook Youth Club Reopens

Liphook Youth Club reopens tonight, Monday 8th January at Liphook Millennium Centre at 6:30pm for young people in school years 7 to 9. Next Monday 15th January will be for those in years 10 and 11.

We have decided to revise how we run the Youth Club to enable young people to feel more safe and secure.

So far, we have had all ages together which has presented some problems, and as a result we have decided to split the age groups attending. From now on, sessions for members in school years 7 – 9 will be one week and the next for years 10 - 11 and so on. This is so we can provide more age-appropriate activities and reduce bullying and any inter-age unpleasantness and it will also reduce numbers attending any one session which was beginning to a problem. Consequently, only those in school years 7 – 9 will be admitted this Monday 8th January and from years 10 – 11 next Monday 15th January and so on.

We have been discouraging scooters and skateboards but, as they have caused too many problems and difficulties, they are now to be banned entirely by not allowing them in the building at all. If members bring them they will have to leave them outside or take them back home.

The entry charge includes a hot toasty and fruit drinks, no other money will be required. Young members will not be allowed to leave the youth club during sessions.

Subscriptions will continue to be £1.50 on admission for each attendance with the first time being free for new members.
