Council Elections
Liphook resident Freddie Dawkins (representing The Countryside Party) is
standing for election on May 1, in both the Bramshott & Liphook Parish
Council and East Hampshire District Council elections).
Freddie decided to involve himself in local politics last year, when he
stepped down from a full-time post in Brussels. His "semi-retirement" means
he has more free time to involve himself in local issues and Freddie
believes passionately in defending the countryside, its people, its fauna and flora.
"I read through the manifestoes of all registered UK political parties, and
could only bring myself to agree with The Countryside Party's. It's vision
and practical, commonsense policies will, I am sure, earn the respect and
votes of many electors in the forthcoming English local council elections. I
am standing in both the Parish and District Council elections, as I want to
ensure that really local views from Bramshott and Liphook are carried
through and listened to at East Hampshire District Council and Hampshire
County Council."
Freddie and Sue Dawkins have lived in Liphook for more than 8 years
together. Between them they have four sons, and all are keen walkers and
clay-pigeon shooting enthusiasts..
Freddie invites anyone in the East Hampshire area who would like to get
involved with The Countryside Party's work, to contact him on 07769 665 963.
He has car stickers and mini-manifestoes available.
