Parish Councillors
decided before the election! Our new Parish Council, from May 2, has been decided before the local elections scheduled for May 1, as 12 candidates put their names forward for the 12 Parish Council seats.
Our new Parish Councillors are:
Gregory Amey, 15 Manor Fields.
Jim Allen, 8 Portsmouth Road.
Simon Coyte, 10 London Road.
Michael Croucher, Nutscale, Tunbridge Lane.
Frederick Dawkins, 87 Headley Road.
Paul Ellis, 32 Tunbridge Crescent.
Leslie Futcher, 6 Field Place.
Barry Hope, 16 Avenue Close.
Anna James, Yew House, Rectory Lane.
Alan Jordan, 20 Hazelbank Close.
John Tough, Horseshoes, Griggs Green.
James Walters, 20 Tower Road.
For the East Hampshire District Council ward of Bramshott & Liphook,
there are 3 seats available and 8 candidates. The eight who have put their names forward are:
Patricia Clarke (Liberal Democrat), 28 Avenue Close.
Peter Dare (Labour), 1 Willow Crescent.
Frederick Dawkins (The Countryside Party), 87 Headley Road.
Evelyn Hope (Conservative), 16 Avenue Close.
Anna James (Conservative), Yew House, Rectory Lane.
Simon James (Conservative), Yew House, Rectory Lane.
James Walters (Liberal Democrat), 20 Tower Road.
May Walters (Liberal Democrat), 20 Tower Road.
There will be two polling stations, the Millennium Centre opposite Sainsbury’s and the Church Centre off Portsmouth Road. Both polling stations will be open on May 1 from 0800-2100. If you do not receive a polling card from East Hampshire District Council, you can still go along and vote.
The ward has been split into two sections and in total there are 6,782 adults registered to vote. Unfortunately, our ward tends to follow national trends, with just over 30% of registered electors bothering to vote on the day. So around 2,000 people will decide who represents this ward at District level.
