(Updated February 2016)
Press Release
Liphook Youth Club to run every Week
26th August 2016
Liphook Youth Club which has been holding sessions twice a month since February, is now to hold sessions every Monday evening during school term. The first session this term will be on Monday 5th September with a free Barbecue at the Liphook Millennium Centre.
The Youth Club is run by Kayleigh Rigby as the Lead Volunteer Youth Worker, with a team of eight offering a large range of activities. These include cooking, crafts, pool, table tennis, football, badminton, basketball, computer games and music.
New members are always welcome to join the Liphook Youth Club. Their first session will be free and subsequent sessions will cost £1.50. They will be welcomed each session with a delicious hot Toasty and a refreshing fruit drink. Young people who have just left Junior Schools will be particularly welcome to join Liphook Youth Club and come to the free Barbecue on Monday.
Kayleigh Rigby said, "I'm looking forward to starting back in September, and seeing all our young members again and hearing their summer holiday news. Hopefully we will see lots of new faces coming to join the youth club and they will all be very welcome"
Kayleigh also said "We would also welcome more volunteers to help us with this very active Youth Club. So please come and join us."
Since Hampshire County Council stopped all funding for Youth Activities last year Liphook Youth Club has been entirely dependent upon volunteers for running its youth sessions and organising and supervising activities. John Tough, Chairman of the Youth Club's Management Committee said " We are very grateful to all our volunteers for their invaluable help, to a local trust for financial support and to the Parish Council for in-kind support, without which the Youth Club could not now exist." New volunteers should contact John Tough on 01428-724492.
